Peking to Paris 2016
The 2016 Peking to Paris Motor Challenge starts from the Great Wall outside Beijing on Sunday, June 12th, and finishes with a drive into Paris to cross the finish line in Place Vendome on Sunday, July 17th. This replaces early suggested dates and the Organisation is now booking venues and hotels.
There are plans for a return to Tibet but accepting current advice that this can only be driven again with a strict limit of around 30 participants in total. ERA will be running a separate Himalayan Mountain Challenge, in July 2017, driving a route from Beijing to the Taj Mahal. More details on this will appear on their website.
Enhancing the 2013 route – the route drives into the most adventurous region of Mongolia, the stunningly beautiful northern sector into Russia and on to the Republic of Belarus with the support of the Russian motor-federation who worked to seek out long gravel farm-land sections for the Time Trials and drive an exciting new route across Europe with closed-road mountain climbs in the Alps. Highly acclaimed in 2013 the challenge has made Peking Paris 2016 even better.
