Generations Track Day 2025
Our Fifth and Biggest Generations Track Day ever.
Pre-Event Dinner
This week we hosted our 2025 Generations Event which was our largest and most successful to date.
On Wednesday, we kicked off the excitement with our relaxed and social pre-track day welcome dinner at The Works, allowing our guests an opportunity to engage with like-minded people ahead of track day. Surrounded by restoration projects, inhouse manufactured parts and an impressive line up of W.Os in the showroom, the dinner was the perfect start to our fifth Generations Track Day.
Morning Session
On Thursday, our Next Generation Track Day officially began with a warm welcome at Goodwood, setting the stage for an exciting and memorable experience. Our guests were first introduced to a comprehensive theory lesson from our founder, William Medcalf, whose life-long passion engaged an impressive 90 guests. With over two decades of racing and rallying, including victories across 18 countries, William’s knowledge captivated our young drivers. As the leading specialists in vintage Bentleys, we’re proud to not only celebrate the heritage, but also empower the next generation of drivers.
The morning session followed by vehicle familiarisation in the Chicane paddock with 1:1 dedicated tuition from our qualified seasoned instructors. Once they were safe, confident, and ready, with the gear box, it was time to head out onto the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit to experience the thrill of driving a vintage Bentley on track. The track was graced with an assortment of Bentleys from SuperSports, a Speed Six, 4 ½ Litres, Speed Models and Blowers to name a few.
The concept behind the day is both to inspire and engage the next generation into vintage Bentleys. With this in mind, we have also identified a gap for insurance between the age of 17 and 25 which can introduce challenges. Our carefully curated tuition program teaches a certified level of driving and supports young drivers in acquiring the necessary insurance to get behind the wheels of a vintage Bentley in a safe an enjoyable environment. This allows the family car to be passed onto the next generation and provides young people the opportunity to drive something of significant British heritage.
This year we extended our invitation to a network of other pre-war owners and enthusiasts all under the age of 40, supporting our wider endeavours to inspire the next generation into wider historic car world. It was wonderful to welcome eight other pre-war cars to our event, including a 1936 Austin, 1928 Alfa Romeo and a 1928 Austin 7. We are looking forward to many more events with such special friends in the future.
Hospitality
At the end of the morning session, our impressive lineup of W.O. Bentleys and pre-war cars paraded the track, showcasing their beauty and exceptional engineering. With over 30 original W.Os on track and eight further pre-war cars, parading the track in the glorious sunshine was certainly quite a moment. This was followed by a well-deserved break for lunch, where our guests relaxed and enjoyed hospitality while reflecting on the excitement of the morning.
Afternoon Session
This year, our afternoon session was a dedicated track afternoon, where full track day rules apply. Providing both owners and qualified young drivers the opportunity to accelerate on track, implementing their skills and pushing their pre-war car’s performance on the historic circuit. We also provided hot laps to guests in support of MS Society raising over £500 for our partnered charity of the year.
With over 20 original W.O. Bentleys, more than 30 young drivers and 90 guests in total, the day was a great success, filled with learning, camaraderie, passion and thrilling motorsport action.
Adding to the enjoyment, we were also thrilled to collaborate with Hedley Studios, who provided two Bentley Blower JNRs, elevating the experience for our guests. These exquisite icons are not just a tribute to the past, but a beacon for the future. At 85% scale, a reinterpretation of the iconic 1929 Bentley Blower exudes power and luxury while embracing modern sustainability, thank you to Duncan Gray and his team, we look forward to collaborating on future events.
With Thanks To...
A huge thank you to Goodwood Motor Circuit for hosting us for the fifth year in a row, our talented tuition drivers for their dedication and passion in helping us support the next generation, and, of course, to Amy Shore, Joe Shawyer-Hill and all the wider media team for capturing the highlights of the day.
Most importantly, a massive thank you to the 90 guests who made the event such a success. It is a pleasure and privilege to welcome you all and create such a day filled with fantastic memories.
Carbon Positive Note
We are also pleased to confirm our Generations Track Day was delivered as a carbon positive event, thanks to the fantastic support of our attendees! Offsetting carbon emissions for events with a 4:1 recovery is in line with our objectives within our initial five-year sustainability journey. Our event creates a perfect synergy between the power of sustainability and the next generation, something we are incredibly passionate about.
