Peking To Paris Week Two
Peking To Paris Update
A promising start from car 10 set Jonathon Turner and Nick English up with a healthy lead in Class. Pushing on over the rough stuff in Inner Mongolia proved just how important it is not just to prepare a car for this event but rebuild it from the ground up. Old chassis repairs from more than 30 years ago, before Jonathon’s ownership, began to fail, and the chassis cracked in several places. With emergency repairs costing valuable time, Car 10 dropped significantly down the leader board.
Today, one of our Technician's is flying out from Heathrow to Almaty, Kazakhstan, to support Jonathon and Nick and help get them back on the rally route. We’re grateful for the support from Bentley in Almaty, who are assisting us in getting Jonathon and Nick back on journey to Paris.
What was meant to be an epic adventure still is - just in a different form, as, like many others, they now fight to reach the finish line. It is a very different battle than fighting for seconds at the sharp end of the rally and reminds us that the Peking to Paris is a true test - not just of speed, but of endurance and resilience.
