A historic moment at The Works...

A historic moment captured at The Works, presenting three 3Ls from 1923, 1924 and 1925, incredibly well paired with Le Mans Classic this weekend.

Significant highlights of historical interest follows…

XM6761, the first British car to ever race at Le Mans. This 1923 3 Litre Bentley claimed 4th place at the 1923 Le Mans, driven by John Duff and Frank Clement.

XT1606, the first British car to ever win at Le Mans. In 1924, John Duff and Frank Clement returned to Le Mans behind the wheel of XT1606, a 1924 3 Litre Bentley. Together they secured Bentley’s first Le Mans victory.

MH7580, the very first Bentley Motors Works Le Mans team car, driven by Dudley Benjafield and Bertie Kensington-Moir. This 1925 3 Litre Bentley made its racing debut at Le Mans on 20th June 1925. This weekend, she returns to race once again at this year’s Le Mans Classic to mark her centenary.

Making history, this is the first time these three Bentleys have been restored together and we’re fortunate to have housed all of them here at The Works.
