New Launch
A highly desirable 4½ Litre with a complete and continuous history from the day she was delivered new in 1929, UU302 is a car with a story as rich as her presence.
With remarkable provenance, UU302 was first delivered to actor and Irish Guards officer Guy Tylden-Wright of Winkfield Place, Windsor, a fitting start for a car of this character. From there, her ownership reads like a roll call of the Bentley world. She was enjoyed in turn by a publishing director, a Cornish transport pioneer and a string of noted collectors on both sides of the Atlantic. Her travels took her to California, where she spent time with attorney John Thorpe before returning home to Britain. Every owner is traced by name in a well-documented history file.
Built to be driven, UU302 has benefited from significant investment over the years. Chief among the improvements is her 5.3 litre engine conversion, carried out by the specialist team at Vintage Bentley, which gives the car the strength, torque and reliability that serious long-distance work demands.
Known as War Horse, she has been professionally prepared to take on the world’s toughest endurance rallies, including the infamous Peking to Paris. This is a Bentley engineered to cross continents and still look magnificent at the finish.
UU302 is a well-developed and proven rally car with real presence and offering entry into the world of vintage endurance rallying with the hard development work already done.
After nearly a century of distinguished ownership, UU302 is ready for her next chapter. Whether that means a great rally or simply the finest way to experience a 1929 Bentley on the open road, she is prepared to deliver.
